Love Is....

You know how much sister teaches kindergarten right? Well, today she asked her 5 year olds what "Love" means to them. She emailed me their responses, and I was amazed. They are 5, and just read what they told her.....the ones in purple are my favorites :) These are absolutely priceless.

Love is....

Love is when you love your parents.

Love makes you feel happy.

Love is like hugging somebody.

Love is when you kiss your parents.

Love is when your mom tucks you in at night and gives you a kiss.

Love is when your mom takes you to the park.

Love is when your friends help you.

Love is when your heart feels good.

Love is when two people fall in love at a wedding.

Love is when somebody do something for you and you do something for
them.
Love is when your friend comes over your house..then you hug them.

Love is when your parents kiss.

Love is when your mom leaves and then she comes back and she says “I
miss you”

Love is like a passion like when someone likes you in your heart.

Love is when someone cares about you and you care about them.

Love is like when someone really likes you, really likes likes you,
like as a girlfriend.

Love is when your friend shows you the way home.

Are those not just the sweetest things you have ever read, and coming from 5 year olds just make them sweeter. It is crazy how much a 5 year old knows, how much they see (when we don't even think they are paying attention) and it is neat to see their hearts. Because they are so honest, more honest than most adults.

My favorite is the one that said....Love is when your heart feels happy. I love that! Because it is so simple, but so true. Many people think that love stops at relationships....but I disagree. I think it captures feelings, experiences, moments, and when your heart is happy you do feel love. In some way.

Anyone have a good "Love Is"....I feel like I can't even compete with the 5 year olds. I start to type one and then I feel like I have to edit it in some way. For it to be right. But I think that is why kids say it much better, because they just say it.

So with no editing....to me, Love is....

Seeing Brylee smile

Kissing in the rain

Watching someone you love sleep

Hearing someone pray for you...out loud

Seeing an older couple holding hands

Giving birth

Passion...for someone....for something.....for others

Listening to a child pray

When Brandon tickles me, I can't breathe, and I am laughing so hard.

Love is...my life. I experience love every day in some way. Love is the little things. Love is free. Love is simple, easy to show, and makes the whole world better. It makes this life worth living.

I am grateful for the 5 year olds. I am grateful that they reminded me of what love is. Kids are such a gift.

And for the moments that just can't be put into words....Love is....

oh tanna...that first picture of you holding brylee made me cry, b/c i know EXACTLY how you're feeling in that pic...it's not anything you can describe, but it's like you've grown another heart and it's fallen completely in love with a brand new tiny person...thanks for sharing!

tanna, i have never seen that picture of you holding brylee before. i don't remember it from when she was born.

it is my absolute favorite. and like everyone has already said, i started crying as soon as i saw it.

i honestly think you have to be a mom to understand that. to understand what it's like to love something long before you ever know if it's a girl or boy...or anything else about them.

thank you for that. i needed it. i love that picture!
