20 years

Last night (during a big discussion) Brandon and I realized that we have known each other for 20 years. 20 years!

The first time I ever saw him he was sitting in the pew at church in front of me. He was 12 years old, so was I. It was in the "youth group" section and he was sitting in front me....and I believe he was holding hands with my friend Karen. (remember this Karen..ha?!) I am pretty sure they were "going out!" Oh these memories make me smile.

Brandon looked the exact same back then as he does now...at least I think so. His face has not changed. His hair has changed a little...it is much shorter now. He was rocking some longer hair back then but other than that he looked the same as he does now.

20 years sounds like forever, and it is a long time, but sometimes it seems like yesterday when we were sitting on that church pew as little 12 year olds.

The last few weeks have been rough in so many areas, and we have certainly been tested, but last night I was telling him how lucky I thought that we were. We have known each other 20 years, we are (and always have been) best friends, we have two precious little girls, and we still love each other through any and all conflict. Oh, and we don't ever want to give up on each other....no matter how hard things may get. Our hearts are so connected that we just push through...because there is no other option in our heads. We can fight like anyone else but at the end of the day he is my teammate and we gotta stick together.

We are ready for all the stress/issues/etc to be past us but at least we reminded each other yesterday that we are lucky to have one another :)

Jason and I were thinking about that exact same thing not that long ago. Crazy how time flies. What is really odd is to think that Jordan will be the same age we were when we met each other in two years! When I look Jordan, and see how little he looks, it blows my mind to think of how young we all were together!
