Last night I shared a verse with the Beauties that I wanted to share on here. So many times we think of beauty as only being an outward appearance and we forget how important it is to have inner beauty of the heart.
1 Samuel 16:7
"Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejecting him; for God sees not as man sees, for amn looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart."
I told them that more than anything I want to have a beautiful heart. Our hearts connect people. Our hearts can express joy only found in God. Our hearts can love in a way that no other part of us can. Our hearts can relate to hurting people and our hearts can feel true compassion. You can't put a price on inner beauty and inner beauty is exactly what we should all desire to have more than anything.
In the world we live in I know that it is not always easy to cling to this but when we do we will experience a love on a whole new level.
I want to have a beautiful heart because I want my children to desire to have a beautiful heart as well. I can play dress-up with them all day, and decorate their outward appearance, but I will not be doing my job as a mom if I don't teach them how to love God and truly desire to have a beautiful heart.
I want them to experience God's very best and this is part of it! I pray I can model this for them in those moments where they are watching me the most....

Soo true..beauty on the outside is so often "assumed" more by that particular person than even those around them! So many times a person's beauty is "uglied" by the way they treat others, identifying them with both inward and outward "ugliness"..and that makes for U G L Y!
