Uncomplicate Marriage. 2012

This weekend Brandon and I attended our church's couples retreat. It was called Uncomplicate Marriage and we loved it. I believe it is so important to make time for your marriage, no matter how hard it is to find the time to do it. Life is busy these days, especially with the kids, but making time for each other is so very important. Many times we put our kids first because they need us, but one thing that I was told a long time ago is...."The best thing you can do for your kids is to put each other first and keep the family strong."

I want to always try hard to do that. No matter what. No marriage is perfect and no marriage is without struggle. All marriages needs guidance and wisdom and that is why we took the time to attend the retreat.

We had to answer a few questions while we were there and it was neat to hear each others answers....

1. What made me fall in love with you? (our answers were the same on this one!)

*Our playfulness. Our friendship. We had so much fun together because we were such good friends first.

2. What I appreciate most about you is:

T: How hard you work to provide for, protect, and take care of our family.

B: The way that you try so hard to be a good mom for our girls. Your loyalty to me.

3. I feel most loved by you when you....

T: When you choose me and make me a priority. When you notice that I am trying hard to be a good mom.

B: Show appreciation to me

Audra and Ross got to come too so that was fun!

We learned a lot. Hopefully I can share more on that later. Definitely a great getaway for us!

Oh, and I wanted to post this too. Last week I saw this in Brandon's stack of stuff. He wrote this on a napkin and it made me smile. I don't know where/why he wrote this but it made me smile. Pretty true right? At least the woman part :)

Another reason why I love him :)

Your children will learn so much from YOU, loving their Daddy and making him a priority in your day, thus teaching them to love in the same way someday~~
